An exhibition launched in the art gallery with the Regional Museum of History in the town of Vratsa, northern Bulgaria, marks the 140th birth anniversary of sculptor Professor Andrey Nikolov. The patriarch of Bulgarian sculpture was born in Vratsa only a few days after the Liberation of Bulgaria in 1878. Among his celebrated works is the figure of the lion guarding the eternal fire at the memorial of the unknown soldier in Sofia and the standing lion at the front entrance of the Ministry of the Interior.
