The 150-year old St. St. Cyril and Methodius secondary school in the town of Bregovo, Vidin district, is on the list of innovative schools in the country for its project called “History without borders. Topsy-turvy classroom”.

In a topsy-turvy classroom the traditional teaching methods are turned upside down. In this project the teacher “lectures” online, outside the classroom, while students move the work they usually do at home to the classroom. The students will get everything they need from their teachers via the free Google Classroom platform, where teachers will be able to post video and audio files, and text for the next lesson. The aim of all this is to help children focus on an independent synthesis, analysis and solution of the problems they are given. The intended effect is to foster a deeper understanding in acquiring knowledge, and an ability in children to apply it in practice.
