As of today Covid-19 data made public online

As of today institutions, the public and media will obtain information about the coronavirus pandemic from the Single Information Portal. 77 hospitals and 144 laboratories in the country have the right to input data. The new system had a false start – inconsistencies in the numbers announced. The health ministry admitted it was a mistake not to have summarized the information this morning so as to present it to the media and to rule out different interpretations of the data. Deputy Minister of Health Zheni Nacheva attributed the mix-up to lack of experience and announced that all omissions had been corrected. From now on the data will be summarized at 00.00 hours on the previous day. Data on the course of the epidemic is available at coronavirus. bg.

Around 4% of all Bulgarians have already been infected with the coronavirus: Atanas Mangarov

“Nearly 4% of Bulgaria’s population, or approximately 280,000 people have already encountered the novel coronavirus,” the head of the Pediatric Clinic at the Hospital of Infectious Diseases in Sofia Associate Professor Atanas Mangarov said. According to the expert, there won’t be a second or third wave of Covid-19. “If the coronavirus does not disappear completely, we may witness separate cases during the cold months” Associate Professor Mangarov commented.

Coronacrisis opens up new opportunities for doing business and for communicating

“There are no economic reasons for the Covid-19 crisis. It was overexposed by the media and 90% of all news was about the coronavirus. The situation was inflamed and the collapse was even greater because of everyone’s emotional approach, including politicians and financiers. The Covid-19 crisis created new opportunities for doing business and communicating via the modern technologies,” Petar Ivanov, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce says.
