Covid-19 in Bulgaria: Day 126

Bulgaria reports another day with high number of new cases - 292

A total of 292 new cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in the last 24 hours with 4,540 PCR tests performed, according to the Unified Information Portal. The highest number of new infections are in Sofia city - 98, followed by Plovdiv with 43, and Blagoevgrad with 19.

79 people recovered and 5 persons died in the past day. The active cases are currently 3,389.

Nearly 230,000 new cases of Covid-19 worldwide in one day
228,299 people worldwide have been infected with the coronavirus within 24 hours, and 5,445 have lost their lives, according to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control. In America, the new cases are about 140 thousand, in Asia - 55,000, in Africa - 19,000, in Europe 15,000 and in Oceania - 176. 
The five countries with the most newly infected persons are the United States - 63,004, Brazil - 42,619, India - 26,506, South Africa - 13,674 and Mexico - 7,280. Most people died in the last 24 hours in America - 3,670, followed by Asia - 1,099, Europe - 450 and Africa - 226. The five countries with the most new deaths are Brazil - 1,220, the United States - 982, Mexico - 730, India - 475 and Iran - 221. 
As of December 31, 2019, a total of more than 12.2 million cases of coronavirus worldwide and more than 550 thousand deaths have been reported. In Europe, the five countries with the most infections are Russia - 707,301, the United Kingdom - 287,621, Spain - 253,056, Italy - 242,363 and Germany - 198,178. 
Since the beginning of the pandemic, most cases have been detected in Turkey in the Balkans - 209,962, of which 5,300 were fatal. Serbia is second with 17,342 infections and 352 fatalities. It is followed by North Macedonia with 7,567 infected persons and 361 deaths.
