PM Borissov confirms priorities of Bulgarian EU Presidency before EP

In a speech before the EP PM of Bulgaria Boyko Borissov confirmed the 4 major priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU: the future of young people in Europe; the integration of the Western Balkans and regional connectivity; Europe’s security and stability and also digital skills. Borissov warned that in case the EU didn’t invest in the infrastructure of the Balkans that could be done by Russia, Turkey and China, as they also had their interests in the region. The premier voiced to the audience his support for the cohesion policy. He also outlined that Bulgaria was ready to enter the Eurozone’s waiting room /the ERM2 mechanism/ due to its very good economic indexes and the 4% GDP.
