Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has suggested to the President of Turkey Recep Erdogan a bilateral meeting in July on the sidelines of NATO summit in Brussels aimed to discuss in-depth cooperation and dialogue between the two countries.

Rumen Radev has mailed a letter to Erdogan replying to an invitation for a meeting between the two presidents.

Earlier this month, President Rumen Radev commented the forthcoming EU-Turkey summit in Varna by saying "I never impose myself where I am not invited”. Back then he also advised the Bulgarian prime minister to make sure that Bulgaria’s role “is not reduced to the one of a host serving the sherbet.”
