Vice-President Iliana Iotova and Interior Minister Mladen Marinov inaugurated the exhibition “Rescued Treasures of Bulgaria” at the National Archaeological Institute.

The exhibits, over 300 in number, owned by the museum in Sofia and by 18 other museums around the country, date back to all periods in the millennia-long history of what are today the Bulgarian lands – from the Late Chalcolithic period, up to the time of the National Revival in Bulgaria in the 19th century. The exhibition is on from 7 November until 27 January 2019.

“Each one of the objects “abducted” is a page torn off the ancient history of the country, leaving blank spaces,” Vice-President Iotova said in her address.
