Bulgaria’s Ministry of Interior is checking information on the use of physical force by Police officers against protesting citizens in front of the Council of Ministers building downtown Sofia. The signals were sent on occasion of the tension that escalated between police and remonstrants when two young Bulgarians were detained and beaten. Checks are carried out to establish the truth and the persons involved, Director of the Sofia Police Department Georgi Hadzhiev explained. In his words, the check will end within a month and if police officers are caught in possible misconduct or violations, they shall be held responsible for their actions.
