The new coronavirus wave is quite different than the previous ones. A complex assessment will be made each day on the basis of the data, Minister of Health Asena Serbezova said after a meeting with the Emergency Service and directors of hospitals in Sofia.

Some of the factors that could cause switching from one measure to another are the occupancy of hospital beds, the morbidity among medical staff and the availability of medics, Serbezova said.

The Expert Advisory Board for the Supervision of Immunoprophylaxis has been discussing whether to reduce the quarantine period from 10 to 7 days and the isolation period from 14 to 10 days. In many countries, there is no quarantine at all for people with a booster dose, the minister said.
