58% of Bulgarians believe it will be easy for them to adapt to the euro, indicates a sociological survey on the attitudes of the public and of businesses to the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria, conducted by Alpha Research and commissioned by the Ministry of Finance.
32.8% of the respondents say they approve of the adoption of the euro, 1 in 2 say they do not. 64% of businesses and companies want the euro to be adopted. There are fears, both in society and among businesses, that once Bulgaria enters the Eurozone, the prices of commodities will go up, as will the inflation rate and the risk of fraud. At the same time, 1 in 10 Bulgarians use the euro for savings.
Caretaker Minister of Finance Rossitza Velkova stated that a website about the euro and a telephone number will be launched in March 2023, where information can be obtained and questions answered.
