Mayor Fandakova: Sofia metro network will be 61 km long in 4 years

By the end of the year, the metro will be extended by nine kilometers, the mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, said at a conference in the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the start of the Sofia metro operation.

According to Fandakova, the construction, which has already started together with the secured financing were a guarantee that in 4 years the metro will have 61 km of lines and will be used by more than half a million people every day. "With the new sections, the metro will reach 50% of the total share of public transport," Yordanka Fandakova added.
