North Macedonia must understand that the path to Europe and good neighborly relations is through actions, not through words. Violence and provocations beget violence and provocations, and this vicious circle must be broken, said Bulgaria's caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev.

His statement comes after the problems along the border for Bulgarian citizens who were not allowed to Skopje for the celebration of the anniversary of the birth of Gotse Delchev on February 4.

The North Macedonian side quoted the lack of electricity at the border as a pretext for stopping the Bulgarians. Therefore, Demerdzhiev announced that he had sent one power generator to each of the three border points to help the Macedonian side. Demerdzhiev announced that he offered to meet his Macedonian counterpart in Delchevo at the end of the week.
