For the fifth year in a row, Race for the Cure is taking place in Bulgaria in support of women's health. "Let's stand together at the starting line in support of women in Bulgaria".

Bulgaria is joining in Europe's largest charity sporting event, together with more than 50 countries participating, benefiting more than 31 organisations fighting breast cancer.

The funds raised go directly to the organisations and hospitals fighting breast cancer, as well as to their educational campaigns related to this disease. With 500,000 people newly diagnosed and 125,000 dying from breast cancer every year in Europe, these funds are vital - say the organisers of Race for the Cure Bulgaria and urge people to get involved. In Bulgaria, the statistics are alarming - every year around 4,000 Bulgarians are diagnosed with the disease, but it is estimated that the number of patients exceeds 30,000. The aim of events like Race for the cure is to reverse the trend and less and less women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.

The race in Sofia's South Park starts at 10 a.m. on October 1. Those who cannot attend can join the effort by posting a video or photos of themselves playing the sport on social media with the hashtag #RFTC2023.
